How to set up your new worm farm
Put worm farm together as per instructions from manufacturer
Use bottom tray with tap, middle tray and top tray with lid (keep other tray for later)
Put worms with soil from box into second (middle) tray and cover with dampen cardboard from box or worm blanket
Let worms settle for a couple of days before feeding them, they need to adjust to there new home
I would suggest when you do feed them, put food in top tray
Reasoning is:
-
- You can gauge if they are hungry
- You will know if food is still there after a day or two it means they are not hungry or they don’t like like something you have given them, remember, no citrus or onions, small amount of eggs shells and coffee okay (don’t overdo it)
-
- For easy removal of food should you need to get rid off
